Will running "protocol spanning-tree rstp" affect existing connections on my production VDX 6740?

I'm adding an Equallogic PS4100 SAN to my switch and am going through the Dell recommended port configuration for this.

They talk about using RSTP and running the command "protocol spanning-tree rstp" and then turning on "spanning-tree edgeport" for the actual interfaces that the SAN will be connected on.

My question is will running this command on a production switch have any impact on other interfaces? Once I run this I plan on only applying it to the interfaces that are running my SAN traffic.

Hi,

These commands should have no effect on traffic on other interfaces
