@anand_gopinath

-> DCX or X6 ????

in X6 root account is disable by defalut on switches that have FOS 8.0.x

you need to login trough the management interface as "rootaccess" in order to enable the root account.

with the command userconfig --show list the account name * with default password.

if the switch was delivered by EMC, root account is set to enable, but then you need to ask by EMC for password.

Re: What is the Default root & Factory Password for DCX X6 Directors ??

Hi Anand,

with FOS 8.0 and forward there is no factory user any more. Only root, admin and user account are setup as default users.

To enable (if not enabled by OEM)  access for the root account you must login as admin and run the following command

admin$ rootaccess --set all

for allowing root login via ssh/telnet/wtc and to limit to console only

admin$ rootaccess --set consoleonly
